The day has finally arrived for us to hit the road. We can’t wait for this new adventure to start.
It’s amazing sometimes how fast time goes by. Its been one year since we lost Daisy, and I still think of her often. Sometimes when I get home from work, I expect her to bark and come running out of her room to greet me. When we have a bright and sunny day, I think…Daisy would be out laying in the sun and loving every minute of this day. She was a huge part of my life, good times and bad times. Daisy always knew when I needed to be loved and would sit on my feet, pressing her body against mine. She was my protecter, my warm blanket, my life coach but more importantly Daisy was my best friend.
Help me create more laughter than tears, disperse more happiness than gloom, spread more cheer than despair.
Never let me grow so big that I fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.
Never let me forget that I am a clown…that my work is to cheer people up, make them happy, and allow them to forget momentarily all the unpleasant things in their lives.
Never let me acquire financial success to the point where I will discontinue calling upon my Creator in the hour of my need or acknowledging Him in the hour of my Plenty.
After going back and forth since its launch, I finally decided to sign up for iTunes Match. With the new additions to the family (Mac and Mackey), I thought it would be great to have all our music in the iCloud so we could easily manage the music on all our devises.
It started to scan last night and we have over 6600 songs and its working on uploading the other 634 songs they did not have. I think most of those are from the Napster days and many from The Blue Devils and DCI. Looking back at the music, my first folder was in 2007. My first iPod was the original shuffle, which I must have bought around 2004. I loved it. In 2005 I lost all my music most when that PC died, and had to start fresh.
After hearing a news story about a house that caught fire, and having lost all their family photos in the fire, I thought it would be smart to get an external hard drive, so when the big one came, I could grab the drive and save all the family photos. I now have two.
Back in August both Cas and I started listening to the Steve Jobs biography and learning all about Apple. On Friday we had dinner in downtown Spokane and took a walk to the Apple store to check things out. We went right to the MacBooks and started playing with them, the Air then Pro. We fell in love with the Air, it’s super light, thin and fast. We walked around and played with the new iPhones, then over to the iPods.
Then we were sucked back into the Air world. After playing around with it for an hour we asked “should we?” Paper, rocks, scissors, lizard, Spock. We decided we needed to go for a walk (something Steve Jobs did when he needed to work something out).
With forty five minutes left before closing, we asked for two MacBook Airs and a crash course in the Mac world. Our sales person was nice, but really did not teach us anything that we already did not know.
We are now on a whole new world of discovery and we love it. We still have a ton to learn, but with winter coming, we will have plenty of time. Best Christmas gift ever.
